unwanted calls blocking

This post will show you there procedures for blocking and avoiding unwanted calls from network providers and even other people.

  1. INSTALL A CALL BLOCKING APPLICATION ON FROM THE SOLEA OR GOOGLE PLAY STORE

Applications like Truecaller, RoboKiller have been developed to help out with such tasks.

These apps give the ability to maintain a personal blacklist of numbers that might be bothering you and whitelist those you want to call you.

Some work by downloading a dedicated contacts list which are seperate from your regular contacts to your phone. Before you can make use of such apps, you will need to grant them permission in your smartphone settings, whether you downloaded the app on Android or on iOS.

2. USING THE SPAM CALL BLOCKING FEATURE AVAILABLE ON SAMSUNG AND GOOGLE PIXEL SMARTPHONES

For Samsung users, spam calls are automatically flagged in the phone app immediately the call comes in.

For Google Pixel users, when spam call hit your device, the phone app immediately turned red, giving you a very easy way to identify spam calls.

3. USING DO NOT DISTURB (DND) FEATURE ON SMARTPHONES TO BLOCK CALLS FROM  NUMBERS THAT ARE NOT O YOUR CONTACT.

You can set the do not disturb feature on both the iOS and android devices to block calls from numbers that are not on your contact.

The down side to this is that you are going to miss lot of important calls from people who you do not have on your contact list.

Those people who make use of voice mail a lot will not see this method as a very reliable one.

First, in case you don't know what a URL Shortner is, it a kind of tech used by websites to shorten their long links with the aid of a redirect which links the URL with the long link to the shorter URL (new URL).

Google ventured into the URL shortening business in the year 2009, and also further developed the service by adding a third party API which allows for QR code scanni and also for developers to utilise the service into their own softwares.

As of April 13th, Google is replacing its goo.gl URL shortener with a Firebase Dynamic Link (FDL).

What is Firebase Dynamic Link (FDL)?

" Dynamic Links are smart URLs that allow you to send existing and potential users to any location within your iOS or Android app. They survive the app install process, so even new users see the content they're looking for when they open the app for the first time. "

For example, let's say you were filling a form from a web page that has an app, during the process you're required to go to the app. The redirecting link from the website to the app using a FDL will take you directly to the needed location within that mobile application and after you're done with the app it will also take the you back to exactly where you left off on the website. Pretty neat, isn't it?

According to the Google's web blog, other purposes for FDL's replacement for goo.gl are:

  • Increase conversion for user-to-user sharing

  • Drive more installs with social, email, and SMS marketing campaigns

  • Turn desktop users into mobile app users

Come April 13th, creation of goo.gl links would be impossible, but existing user would be able manage their existing links for an additional one year before the service is completely stopped. After March 30th, links would still work but users won't be able to access the goo.gl console.

Google has suggested users in creating FDLs from now on, or users should start using other shortening services.

Matrix industries is releasing an updated version of its smartwatch, the PowerWatch announced in 2016. Although, the PowerWatch's major selling point was the fact that it runs off the body heat of the user wearing it. It didn't really come with any feature that a smartwatch would offer.

At this year's CES show, Matrix is unveiling a new version called the PowerWatch X which brings some of the features that lacked in the PowerWatch - features like notifications from smartphones via Bluetooth.

The PowerWatch X would be available for pre-order $249.99 and will ship in Q1 of 2018.
